After upgrading from Fusion 6 to 7, certain USB devices, specifically webcams no longer prompt to connect to Windows(guest) or Host(osx).
They also no longer show up in USB & Bluetooth settings under Virtual Machine. Anyone else seeing this issue? Trying figure this out, I completely uninstalled Fusion to try and fix this. The webcams work fine in OSX by itself and are usable.
Fusion 7 supports a virtual USB camera, which can be added as a new device in the VM Settings. This allows the physical camera (USB or built-in PCIe FaceTime HD) to be shared by the host and the VM at the same time.
Currently there is no option in the VM Settings to un-hide USB cameras for passthrough to the VM, but it can be done with a preference.
Edit the file ~/Library/Preferences/VMware\ Fusion/preferences and add the following line:
vusbcamera.passthrough = "TRUE"

I have a similar problem with a Rainbow USB Superpro (a USB security dongle).
It worked fine with Windows 8 and Fusion 6.
Now, with Fusion 7, Windows 8 recognises it OK, but the related software is not to able to see it.
UPDATE. Fixed by uninstalling the drivers, rebooting, reinstalling the same drivers. Strange!
Dear Mudaltsov,
do you have a similar solution for Fusion 10 with Windows 10?
Thanks a lot, Alex
