Are you deploying the Passive and Witness in the same cluster as of the Active node? Is the Active vCenter node part of a resource pool?

Cheers,

Supreet

There are no resource pools.

I'm deploying in two clusters. Active and Witness on first one and Passive on second one.

vCSA HA was already deployed but due to some authentication issues (only on passive node) it was destroyed yesterday.

We wanted to recreate it from scratch but unfortunately this is not possible due to cloning issue.

When I tried  manually clone vCSA it worked.

Thanks for any help...

Can you try creating both Passive and Witness on the same cluster? Once created, you can move them to the required cluster.

Cheers,

Supreet

Until now it is running.

It looks that there is issue between clusters.

Many thanks

Hello Supreet,

I have just deploy a vCenter server appliance 6.5 on a MGMT cluster with 2 hosts with no resource pool. We have also another cluster(MAIN) with 16 hosts and communication between the cluster is fine. The MAIN cluster contains resource pools.

I have deployed vCenter HA using the basic method. I chose the second host in the MGMT cluster for the passive node and one host in the MAIN cluster for the witness node.

Initial cloning of the active node to create the passive node works fine without issues but it cannot clone the active node to form the witness on the MAIN cluster.

Error : ''A specified parameter was not correct: spec.pool''

Could you please help what I have done wrong?

Thank you

Hello there,

I have the same problem, did you manage to solve the problem?

Hi,

before HA configuration, please put all hosts (for PEER, WITNESS and VCSA) into the same cluster after that install HA and after that move all hosts to appropriate clusters.

Best Regards,

Ruslan.

What if the alternate Cluster has a different IP address scheme.   Can you build and relocate?
