Is it correct about my VCP-NV path?

Hi,

I'm a newbie for VMware because I'm working in networking field in a vendor.

But for now I'm interesting in VCP-NV.

As this page VMware Certified Professional 6 – Network Virtualization (VCP6-NV)

My understanding is...

If I have some Cisco certifications so I can get the VCP-NV without any required training courses.

And about "3. Pass One of the Foundation exams" This exam (I choose vSphere 6.5 Foundations Exam 2V0-602) no need some required training course too.

I understand correct?

Please correct me if I no.

Thank you everyone in advance.

What you read on that page is correct.

If you hold one of the defined Cisco certifications, there would be 3 mandatory tasks:

1. Submit proof of your Cisco certification

2. Pass a vSphere Foundations exam (6.0 or 6.5)

3. Pass the VCP6-NV exam

How you learn about vSphere and about NSX in order to pass the exams would be up to you - each exam has a guide which defines the objectives you would be tested on.

Thanks for reply me. It's very helpful.

From your answer it mean if someone who hold some CCNA or above he can get VCP-NV and VCP-DC without any required course by start with VCP-NV first and then go VCP-DC, right?

Oh god, I'm interested in VMware for a long time but my suffer is I knew from many people that I need to take the official training first that's my problem because I'm in a network vendor and my company no way to support me the money about another vendor certification. :smileylaugh:

Once you’re a VCP, you’re handled the same as any other VCP - no matter if you gained NV first with the Cisco certification path.

You‘ll still need the vSphere (with some vSAN) and NSX knowledge to pass the exams of course.
