How many port Groups to a specific NIC ?

May be a silly question , just started with vmware . can somebody tell me how many portgroups can have same nic port or any limitation to it ?

There isn't a per nic limit but there is a limit of 1016 active VSS/VDS ports per host. You can see the configuration maximums here - https://configmax.vmware.com​

does that mean , under VSS/VDS,we can have 1016 port groups aligned to the same Physical nic port  ?

There is no maximum listed for number of port groups or ports per physical nic. You could have 1016 active ports with only a single physical nic as an uplink for the VSS/VDS.
