The OSR Report doesn't seem to update as we mitigate

I have been able to download and review our Operational Summary and have begun to mitigate the findings such as upgrading guest VM's to virtual hardware 9 or greater however every day the new report does not seem to reflect this and maintains the same count of guest VM's or ESXi hosts that have actually been patched.

I've stopped and restarted the collector, but how do I get it to actually rescan or refresh the findings?  Or, is is supposed to be refreshing the findings?

Thank you,

Tina

Hello Tina,

Welcome to Community,

OSR Report does not reflect updates daily upon changes in mitigations and applying recommendations in the environment after the first OSR report delivered, you will receive a next OSR to download in every fortnight and every time you should see the change in OSR, it may have repeated information if you may have missed requested guidelines to follow for fully restricting the problem.

Please read the post how to check the findings with rules Operational Summary Report - Download and Details

Let us know if you need additional information 'or' have any other questions that I can help with.

VishShah,

Thanks for the quick reply.  I'm not entirely sure from the link and reading the subsequent postings that I understand fully.

I had the collector up last week and had the first report delivered with the things to remediate also last week.

You say that new reports are every 2 weeks however I have been getting emails every two days indicating I have a new report.  Are you saying it takes 2 weeks before I would see the results of last week/this week's remediation?  Is there any change in the future this will report in real-time or at least daily and includes updates?

In my example I began patching the ESXi hosts last week and can confirm the ESXi patch version on those hosts match the resolution patch in the Skyline Report.  I have also run a PowerCLI script that returns the guest VM's at hardware version 8 or lower,  and the results show the count reducesas I upgrade them.  I would have expected to see this reflected in subsequent Skyline reports - at least from last week to today The original report showed 75 which matched the PowerCLI script and now I'm down to 54 for example, but am waiting for Skyline to "keep up."

Since last week to today, the Skyline Collector has emailed me new reports every other day.  If results are not updated for two weeks why would OSR be emailing that we have new reports?

Any clarification would be helpful.

Thanks again,

Tina

While I am no longer getting the Skyline OSR Report every two days, I now have not gotten a report since 9/13.  If this is supposed to come every two weeks could you check into why a new report hasn't been generated?

I've checked my internal vSkyline vApp and everything is showing as green and connected.

Thank you,

Tina
