I'm currently working with latest vCloud Director in a LAB and try to stage some machines.

‌I'm sure I had this once and noticed the question mark icon next to the uploaded ISO.

I believe you need to ensure the filename ends in ".iso".

Re-upload your ISO again and save it as "Ubuntu.iso".

You should notice the icon does not have a question mark.

Hi Adam,

thanks for your reply!

i tried all, .iso, .ISO, shortname.ISO, i tried to upload it from local, to use an url, nothing helped Smiley Sad

What i saw, that only .ovf and .ova are listed in the file type, .ISO is not?

Any other hint? Without ISO it's hard to get a VM running Smiley Happy

hello, my colleague find out solition – you need ad .iso to the name in upload window – looks like vCloud ignore name of the file and take name what you chose to neme the iso in catalog – so is uploaded without .iso extension

if you type name ubuntu to name file whitch will be uploaded, file is uploaded just as ubuntu and vCloud Director does not recognize it as ISO file, so you need to name it as Ubuntu.iso, let I upload (file is than correctly uploaded as .iso file) and than you can change the name for something without .iso.

while uploading  browse and locate the iso file> give the name as name.iso in vcd UI.

If you're seeing *.ovf and *.ova are you sure you're not uploading the ISO to the "vApp Templates" area and not the "Media & Other" section of the catalog?

ISO images need to be placed into the "Media & Other" tab (not vApp Templates) or they won't be selectable to mount to a VM. Also (as others have said) make sure when you upload that the filename ends in ".iso" or the icon will still show as a question mark and you won't be able to attach to a VM either.

if you want to upload iso files , you have to select media & others then you will be able to upload it , ovf files can only be uploaded if you select vapp Templates

Hello,

Yes, that's the solution, I just had this issue, and in fact, the "Name" Field is not free, you have to put the same name as your file name with .iso extension.

Even renaming after is not working, in my case I had to delete my media in the catalog and then reupload with the same name as my file.

Thanks
