If the VM is unregistered in vCenter, that means the vCenter is not aware about the VM. In such case, how do we get a list of VMs that the vCenter is not aware of? Not sure if I have understood your question correctly.

Please consider marking this answer as "correct" or "helpful" if you think your questions have been answered.

Cheers,

Supreet

Are you sure that it is unregistered, or do you mean orphaned?

There are several options to find unregistered VM's.

You may use a script, or use RVTools (https://www.robware.net/rvtools/) which lists such VM's as "Zombie" VMs in its vHealth tab.

You can use rvtools,  the vHealth tab show all zombie VMDK’s, zombie VMs.

You could use the free RVTools - the vHealth tab will identify possible Zombie VMs.
