If I close Fusion (after I've been using Windows XP VM for example), sometimes I lose bluetooth. It is lost entirely... bluetooth icon at the right side of my macbook's menu bar says "Bluetooth not available". It will not come back until I restart macos. This is Fusion Pro 10.0.1 on High Sierra supplemental update. It's a real nuissance because I use my macbook in clamshell mode with bluetooth keyboard and mouse. Can't use them without bluetooth.
I wonder if updating the USB related files from VMRC to replace the ones in Fusion will help this issue. I may try this since I will be reloading anyway.
How is it that it’s “likely an Apple Bluetooth problem”?
If Bluetooth device pairing works under Mac OS and it works with another hypervisor running on Mac OS (I.e. Parallels), then I don’t understand the speculation.
Unless someone collects the needed log files and provides a proper analysis to determine root cause, I don’t know that it’s safe to point the finger in any direction.
I am still considering the switch to Parallels. I have trouble with the fact that I paid for Fusion Pro and it has been broken for months. The thought of paying for another product without getting my money back for this product is what is stopping me at this point.
I think it's likely an Apple Bluetooth problem because I've experienced it outside of Fusion, usually just after my iMac has started up and Fusion has not yet been launched. Fusion is obviously doing something to trigger it though, and some acknowledgement and comment from VMware is overdue.
This is fixed with the latest VMWare Fusion 10.1.3 Release:

Bluetooth devices might disconnect when you quit Fusion
When you quit Fusion, Bluetooth devices, such as a keyboard or mouse, might disconnect from the host. Sometimes, the devices automatically reconnect.
This issue is resolved.
Hurray! Thanks VMWare!
Three days and no disconnects! This is what I paid for and expect!
