Hi all
Actually I have no access to a (test) view environment, so I ask you
One of my customers asked me, if it is possible to add resources (in this case vRAM) to a running single VM in a linked clone pool. So only one VM needs more resources. Change the master and recompose is actually not an option, because it is only one VM that needs more RAM.
Is that possible?

No it's not possible.
Besides the obvious, Windows Desktop OS'ses are not capable of "hot memory / cpu adding".
In your use-case, I would create a full-clone from the master image and use it as an persistent image. You can then deviate from the standard.
You could also make a second floating pool, with the correct specs, but have only 1 or 2 Clones in it and assign the user to it. That way, the solution remains a floating solution.
Yes you can add VRAM to single vm in linkedclone pool,
i usualy do this for some users.
now, for test, i do it in my test enviroment
To add to Hanson's reply: this can only be done when that linked clone is powered off (CPU and MEM). Don't forget however that when the user logs off, and the pool is set to auto-refresh / auto-delete (which is normal for floating pools), that the modified VM will be deleted and rebuild with the original amount of memory.
Can we increase memory of the linked clone VM if it is a dedicated pool?
yes, that's possible.
This can be done but it's not recommend. Any refresh/recompose operations will typically reset the hardware configuration back.
