VMware Workstation 14.1.2 Crashes when choosing "Add new VM" or Help >about

OS is Linux Mint 19.

Selecting 'Create a new Virtual Machine' or Selecting 'Help>About' crashes VMWare (Both Player and Workstation)

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Unexpected signal: 11.

A log file is available in "/tmp/vmware-andy/vmware-ui-25757.log". 

You can request support. 

To collect data to submit to VMware support, choose "Collect Support Data" from the Help menu.

You can also run the "vm-support" script in the Workstation folder directly.

We will respond on the basis of your support entitlement.

I was able to get a fix in place by following the advice from the following thread: https://communities.vmware.com/thread/594288

Set VMWARE_USE_SHIPPED_LIBS before starting a application.

export VMWARE_USE_SHIPPED_LIBS=force; vmware
