So I am running into a problem with upload speeds.... upload speeds only to the internet. Let me set the scene....
We are running VMware 6.5 on the latest patches. We have 4 hosts (HP Blades) and fiber from chassis to core switch. Servers are either 2012 or 2008R2. So here is where the fun begins. All the server 2008R2 servers are only uploading to the internet at 75mbps. where the server 2012's are uploading at 400-600mbps. We worked with Vmware and they say to contact Microsoft, however, not sure it is a Microsoft issue. I have tested a physical 2008R2 server and the speeds are fine.
Set Up:
Both the VM's are on the same ESXi Both the VM's are on the same port group Both the VM's are mapped to same vmnic uplink. Both the VM's are using same E1000 network adapter.
Steps taken so far...
The point to consider is to check if those 2012 VMs used for any specific workload or application or traffic is routed via some specific application such pfsense. You may also want to check duplex settings of pNICs plus compare the network usage statistics inside guest OS (with resource monitor)
The VM's are on the same host and network. I did check the performance and the 2008r2's has 0% utilization before the tests. The network traffic flows the same path on both vm's.
