Customization Approval Portal

Hello Guys

In VRA 7.4 it is possible to customize the approver's portal where you see the requirement made by the user.

I have a blueprint that by default is provisioned in a cluster and we need the approver to modify the requirement and reassign the cluster where the provisioning of the VM.

it is possible to perform this task.

Regards

Sebastian

You can't customize that approval portal, no. But why would the approver need to reassign it to another compute cluster? Could you explain this process a bit more? What if that could be eliminated where the logic was able to select the cluster correctly?

Hello

in vCenter we have several clusters that will be approved by VRA. The Blueprint has Reservation Policy by default and is associated to a Property Group that allows to select the vLAN, Cluster and add the Hostname.

When the approver reviews the request in VRA, he needs to be able to assign the cluster, vlan and hostname, and not that the applicant does it, that he can only select the Blueprint with CPU, Memory, Disk and if he has any additional condition such as adding another disk to the VM.

This is for a control issue since the approver is the one who needs to determine where the VM that was requested will be.

Guessing you're the OP here...

It seems to me that you might be trying to solve a problem that shouldn't exist in the first place. One of the goals of cloud, automation, and vRA is to design your process where none of this should be needed in the first place. You have a tremendous toolset at your disposal and all these things can be set programmatically but you want a person to do it for some reason. So, in my opinion, although I don't have all the facts, you should be focusing on removing this from ever needing approval in the first place and design your blueprints and environment to determine it automatically.
