Hi,
Issue
Adding links to explorer "Favorites" (navigation pane) works and is retained across re-logs but throws an error when accessed. Seems to only apply to links for client shares (aka. \\Client\C$\Users\<username>\Dropbox).
User can access the linked folder if he drills down through \\Client\C$\Users\<username>\Dropbox but not if he clicks the Favorite link.
Any tips?
I should have mentioned that Explorer is accessed through citrix/xenapp.
I never faced this issue with explorer but if you try to create shortcut on desktop or some other place and re-login and see how it works? [plz provide your feedback]
one more thing, try to see user profile for explorer and find the path that you are seeing in user profile is correct
Thank you,
Vkmr.
Hi Vkmr,
Creating a shortcut in the users home folder, pointing to a folder/file on the client works as expected.
Now, as mentioned in the original post the user is able to manually locate the folder on his local drive using the published explorer instance. Either by manually drilling down to the folder or by pasting the URL into explorer address bar.
Seems to me that the issue only pertains to "shortcuts" under Favorites and when those shortcuts points to a folder on the client (for example \\Client\C$\Users\<username>\Dropbox).
Further testing shows that "Open file location" does not work either:
So this issue makes me think that "Favorites" are treated differently than "ordinary" shortcuts.
Thanks for providing your feedback!!
"So this issue makes me think that "Favorites" are treated differently than "ordinary" shortcuts." I am following this
One more test: [I am trying see issue from different view]
try this, go to this location "\\Client\C$\Users\<username>\Dropbox" and right-click and select "create/move short-cut on desktop" log-off/log-back and see how it works
Sorry for this late response. I forgot.
We put further troubleshooting on hold and it's been on hold since.
Not a very helpful response but there it is.
