I have VCP6-NV which expires in Oct and mainly the reason to look at VCAP is to renew VCP. But would like to know what extra will I get...

You'll get the associated certificate, an you won't have to recertify like for the VCP.

According to

VCIX6-NV Certification

Holding a valid VCP6-NV and passing VCAP6-NV will entitle you VCIX6-NV. One more reason to tackle the VCAP exam
