Particular Datastore directory showing empty - too many items?

Hi all, I am running app volumes so have a huge amount of vmdks in a folder called writable on an SSD datastore i have,

It shows as empty and something seems to be timing out ,

It says this

"The query execution timed out because of a back-end property provider 'com.vmware.vsphere.client.storage.FilePropertyProvider"

I've increased my timeout according to a support article i found but it still happens,

Has anyone got round this before ( VC 6.5 ) ?

Direct from the hosts it does the same ,

Everything running well and I know the hosts can access those files as I can see them being mounted and used ,

All dirs are fine except this big one.

Hi,

Can you try to view the contents from PowerCLI?

If you connect to your vCenter using the following :

connect-viserver vcenternamehere

After that, you can try this : (replace my text with your info).

ls vmstores:\VCENTERNAME@443\DATACENTERNAME\DATASTORENAME\DIRECTORYNAME

just curious if it will display or time out.

HI, bspagna89

I have the same problem, but was able to use PowerCLI to list up files as you mentioned. It only happens on this particular VM (around 30 physical RDM disks attached), other VMs are fine.
