How to enable Storage DRS for a VM?

When you do a storage migration of a VM into a Storage DRS cluster there's a tick box that says "Disable Storage DRS for the virtual machine". If this box is ticked, you can pick the datastore to put the VM on, but I believe it also permanently disables storage DRS for the VM, meaning it will sit on that datastore forever?

In the event that the above is true, how would I go about re-enabling storage DRS for the virtual machine? Migrating it out of the cluster and back in again will presumably do it, but this seems like a rather cumbersome way of (I assume) setting a flag in the VM/SDRS configuration.

So is there a faster way? (or one that doesn't involve me having to shift large amounts of data around?)

Thanks.

It is not disabled.   This only disables it for initial placement the only stuff that can cause storage drs on a virtual machine file is VMware vSphere 5.1 here

Thanks

You can right-click the Storage DRS Cluster and choose Edit Settings, click Virtual Machine Settings.

In the Automation Level column you can see the current Storage DRS settings on a per VM level and change the settings if you want to.

If you tick that box, it actually does add it to the VM Overrides on the Storage DRS cluster. I just did it to confirm.
