Screen blacks out when hovering over an input field

This is an annoying little issue.

It doesn't happen every time I fire up my windows 10 VM, but more times than not. I'm using a macbook pro.

When I hover my cursor over an input field anywhere that I can type in text my entire screen goes black. The only thing I can see is the cursor. When I move it out of the field the screen returns. Usually when I reboot my Virtual Machine and restart VMWare Fusion it fixes itself.

*EDIT* I only had to restart my windows and it fixed the issue. I didn't have to restart VMWare Fusion.

Any help would be appreciated.

Let me know what you need from me. Thank you!!!

You didn't say what version of Fusion and what version of MacOS.

Hi rhinzo,

Would you please inform about your host model, macOS version and Fusion version?

Also, would you please disable 3D acceleration in your Windows 10 VM and see if it helps?

Regards,

-Rick

Hi rhinzo,

Have you installed VMware Tools in your Windows VM?

Can you confirm this issue persists regardless the 3D acceleration is enabled/disabled?

Thanks & Regards,

-Rick

Yes I have VMWare Tools installed. Version 10.1.6.5214329

Accelerated Graphics was enabled. I disabled it to see if that fixes the issue.

I just found that I wasn't experiencing the issue in my original post. UNTIL I disconnected my external monitor. When I re-connected the HDMI cable the issue went away.

This is not always the case. I'm normally using my external monitor. Just figured it might help someone narrow down the issue. Thanks!!

Am I just out of luck? Is no one else experiencing this issue?
