VMware Workstation Pro 14 Bridged Mode Not Working

I am trying to configure a Kali Linux guest on a Windows 10 host using VMware Workstation Pro 14 to operate in Bridged Mode, but doing so is not working. I have seen plenty of suggestions online about using the Virtual Network Editor to switch the "Bridge to" setting from "Automatic" to whatever the host system's primary adapter is, but doing this has not worked. To be clear, the adapter that I have selected is my host's WiFi adapter.

You mean your linux guest can not connect to external network through bridged mode? What's the result if you change to NAT mode?

With a Kali Linux VM you probably want full exclusive access to the Wifi-adapter. That is impossible via a bridged vmnet.
I recommend to use a USB Wifi-adapter that you connect directly to the VM.
If you only want to surf or send emails then using a virtual network card may be sufficient.

That is correct. I want full network access, which as far as I understand, can be achieved using bridged mode. Can it not be then? If not, would it be possible for me to attach my laptop's one network adapter to it? I understand that doing this would eliminate the host's ability to connect to the network, but when working in Kali, I really would not care.
