Per-VM EVC vs. Cluster EVC

Hi,

since vSphere 6.7 a Per-VM EVC is configurable in conjunction with a EVC enabled cluster.

That's a nice thing.

But however, "virtual machine EVC baseline cannot be a newer feature set than the cluster EVC baseline" I see in the documentation.

How does it make sense when the cluster EVC baseline have to be newer than the VM enabled EVC baseline?

Did I understand this right?

I thing especially that would be make sense, if the VM EVC baseline could be newer than the cluster based EVC baseline. So I can set e cluster based EVC, and for some specific VM a Per-VM EVC baseline, and these VMs can run on specific hosts only.

Maybe somebody can clarify this for me.

Cheers,

Andre
