the operation on ".\physical\drive 0" failed

i am trying to do an erase operation on a physical disk in disk utility in a mac high sierra guest 10.13.5   and as the mac os works on the operation this error occurs in vmware and if i hit cancel the guest closes

It is a violation of Apple's licensing to run their OS on non-Apple hardware.  The only legal way of virtualizing MacOS is running on a Mac, under VMware Fusion (or ESXi running on a Mac Server hardware).  We cannot help you here or VMware could get into legal trouble.

the drive is blank no partitions, and is an internal sata 1tb drive, and i am trying to install fresh

as a correction, this is a 3tb drive, not a 1tb, if that makes a difference

i understand that, i've bought enough macs to fill my dumpster twice over none are strong enough to run the version of unity i need Smiley Sad. while it may be a violation, i have paid for at least 15 feet of handrail of the late steve jobs yacht. not gonna buy another macintrash after the last two macbooks burned themselves into oblivion in just 6 months. i will keep looking for my answer elsewhere then

i resolved my issue by switching to virtual box for this need, i feel not too bad given the tens of thousands of dollars of overpriced equipment i've bought in the last 20 years
