Two versions of same VMware package in vsphere_client_serenity folder

Hi,

We have two versions of same path in vsphere_client_serenity folder.

com.vmware.vsan.health - 6.5 and 6.5-1300

When we try to register our plugin, we were facing issues, however after removing the older version of the above, our plugin works fine.

Can you please let us know what is the impact of having two versions of same pacakage and is it alright to remove one of the packages.

Hi,

Could you please give more information about your setup:

- what is the version of your H5 Client?

- what plugin and version are you registering?

- what are the issue that you are facing?

- could you provide some logs for us to investigate?

Regards,

Denis

Denis,

We were unable to work with our plugin, in 6.5u1 build.

It happened with both flex and HTML5 plugins.

This has been observed while we have upgraded from 6.5 to 6.5u1.

When we remove old version of the van health package our issue is resolved.

So my question is what is the signifacne of having multiple versions of same package.

Does deleting the old one will have any impact on any other functionality?

Hi,

Older versions of one plugin have no impact on the other plugins. Going forward we will be automatically removing such but even now they don't affect how plugins or the Client work.

If you are facing such a problem please check vsphere_client_virgo.log for any errors during deployment of your plugin and provide the relevant logs if you need assistance on this. With the current information provided it is not possible to do any troubleshooting.

Thanks.

Cheers,

Vladi

Hi Vladi,

So in our case as we have manually deleted older versions, it won't break any working functionality of vcenter right.

Correct!

vsphere-client-serenity folder is just a cache so you can even delete all its contents and the plugins currently available in the environment will be re-downloaded on the next login to the vSphere Client. So nothing is lost.
