UPDATE (October 2nd, 2018)
ATTENTION PRODUCTION SUPPORT CUSTOMERS
With the release of Skyline Advisor, Production Support customers will no longer receive an Operational Summary Report (OSR). Production Support customers can view all their proactive findings and recommendations within Skyline Advisor. You will no-longer have access to the OSR download portal, nor will you be able to download OSRs from within Skyline Advisor.
----------
The Operational Summary Report (OSR) provides you with the Findings and Recommendations proactively identified by Skyline. You will receive an email notification each time a new Operational Summary Report is available for you to download.
Premier Services customers: You will continue to receive your Operational Summary Report (OSR) as part of your regular engagement with your Support Account Manager/Engineer. This is an additional benefit to you as part of your Premier Services contract that includes regular, interactive discussions and consultative recommendations from a dedicated VMware Technical Support Engineer. Premier Services customers will not be able to retrieve their Operational Summary Report using the link below. If you have any questions please contact your Support Account Manager/Engineer.
Production Support customers, download your Operational Summary Report here:
Download Your Operational Summary Report
Use your My VMware account to login and download your Operational Summary Report. The Operational Summary Report contains a Deployment Summary, a Recommendation Summary and the individual Findings and Recommendations discovered by Skyline.
When you are ready to begin remediating a Finding within your environment, you can use the rules.zip file to find the details for each of the objects potentially impacted by the potential issue. For example, you are reviewing a Finding within the Operational Summary Report and see that 5 objects could be impacted within the vCenter Server or NSX Manager. However, you don't know which 5 objects. Open the rules.zip file, search for the unique FindingID associated with the Finding you are reviewing, open that file and you can now see which 5 objects (ESXi hosts, virtual machines, distributed switch, datastore, etc.) are impacted by that Finding.
You can also use the unique FindingID if you have a question about the issue and/or recommendation within the Skyline Community. This enables the Technical Support Engineers moderating the Skyline Community to identify the particular Finding you have a question about as well as further helping you remediate the potential issue.
Disclaimer: The processes, methods and content utilized and/or provided for the duration of the pilot may not reflect the final implementation of proactive support with Skyline services for Production Support entitled customers. The delivery of the Findings and Recommendations through the Operational Summary Report may not reflect the final implementation of proactive support with Skyline services for Production Support entitled customers.
1) How long does the collector need to run before the first report is available for download?
2) Is there a link in (or can be added inside Skyline) to download the report from the server website instead of going to vcsa.vmware.com/skyline/osr-delivery URL?
3) Can this report be setup to email to an administrator on a schedule?
Hello,
The Skyline Collector would have to be active, Once the collector is stopped, VAC (VMware Server) would not be able to receive any date from your endpoints registered with Skyline collectors.
The First report will be available for download post 3-4 weeks from the time of registration that will continue henceforth.
There are 2 option for Production Support customers to download OSR reports:
1. Using the link which is share on the email sent to download OSR
2. Download OSR from the link: OSR https://vcsa.vmware.com/skyline/osr-delivery/report
As of now the email will be sent to you every 3-4 weeks.
The report cannot be emailed to customers on a customized schedule.
We hope this answers your doubt.
This report login does not work for me. I click the link, it says to sign in. I click that link then am taken to myVmware sign in page. When I enter my credentials there, it quickly loads an error in the URL bar then redirects to myVMware dashboard.
I get the exact same response.

Hello Brian,
Please share your Organization Name and EA Number, So I can investigate further.
VishShah,
You said, "Hello Brian" in your response and I'm not sure if you are speaking to me or to the person that messaged before me. Please let me know. Also, it if is me (Brandon), how can I share my org name and EA number with you privately?
Great, I download the first report, it is very easy, by going to the link https://vcsa.vmware.com/skyline/osr-delivery/report, logon with my MyVMware credentials and ready on the right side is the button to download the report.
Regards,
So why is the link to the report download page not listed on the summary report email stating the report is ready to download?! :smileyconfused:
I appreciate the OSR and have some good actionable tasks.
One thing I would recommend putting on the report is for each issue, state which host/datastore/vm is affected by this issue.
Right now I am having to dig around to see which host is missing patches rather than seeing it directly on the report.
Thank you for providing this feedback.
Since the link to download the OSR is missed, you should be able to download the OSR using the link below:
https://vcsa.vmware.com/skyline/osr-delivery/report
Logon with my MyVMware credentials.
Once you login, you should find the option to download the report at the top right corner of the page.
Welcome to Skyline Communities.
We would request you to extract the rules.zip file, which would contain all the required details of the Name of the vCenter / Host / VM / NSX / VSAN for which you have received the Alert.
OSR would contain the Rule ID using which you would be able to locate the file in rules.zip.
Please find the below image which would help you in locating the Finding ID and using the Finding ID how to locate the file in rules.zip
Exacting, I download the report from OSR site https://vcsa.vmware.com/skyline/osr-delivery/report
I think the same, the report does not indicate the host/vm/datastore with it have the problem.
I'm getting this error after clicking Download OSR:
This application has no explicit mapping for /error, so you are seeing this as a fallback.
Wed Sep 19 07:55:59 PDT 2018
There was an unexpected error (type=Internal Server Error, status=500).
could not download file
I got a report after Skyline ran for a day... It is empty - no data in anything. I assume this is correct since it only ran for less than 24 hours?

Hello fritschn and team,
Thanks for this report - very useful. However, I hesitate when thinking about presenting this to management, and non-technical staff. On first glance all one sees is red! (My report reads that 75% of the VMware environment is in a 'critical' state - looks like I'm not doing a very good job!)
I'd feel much more confident if it was presented in context. I think that you are checking 85 'rules'? Might I make the suggestion (see screenshot below) to show this context in the graph?
Thanks, Liam.

I have delete my Skyline VA but i get still notification mails that a report is ready for download.
Can i disable that?

Hi ldclancy, apologies for the delay in response, I've been out of the office on family leave. Thank you for the feedback. Now that Skyline Advisor is available, we are thinking about ways to transform the Operational Summary Report (OSR), including presenting different information and/or a summary of information available within Skyline Advisor. I'll include your feedback in this ongoing discussion. If you have any additional feedback, please let me know. Thank you.
