Can't deploy Log Insight 4.6.1 ova

Hi,

i am trying to deploy my first Log Insight in my vSphere 6.5 environment but it always fails. During the 'Deploy OVF Template' screen > Customize Template > Network Settings, if I don't select the checkbox for 'Prefer IPv6 Addresses,' it fails during the deployment process:

"invalid value false specified for vami.preferipv6.Vmware_vCenter_Log_insight"

If I select the checkbox, it fails with:

"invalid value true specified for vami.preferipv6.Vmware_vCenter_Log_insight"

So basically I have no way to move forward. I don't want to enable IPv6 because my network does not use it. Am I the only one having this silly issue?

Perhaps you need to try to deploy an earlier version. And if successful, then update it.

Hi IT_pilot,

thanks for the advice. I downloaded 4.5.1 and at least got it deployed with no error. 4.5.1 does not have that prefer IPv6 field. Both 4.6.1. and 4.5.1 are in the support matrix for my vCenter 6.5U1 but 4.6.1 does not work because it could no handle the newly added field. Maybe Vmware should do better QA before they release software.
