How to create VM with SRIOV in vCD

According to vCD 9.1 release notes, from vCD 9.1, VM use SRIOV workload is supported. But we can not find out how to use the SRIOV from the vCD from UI / API. Does it has any document about the how to create a vm which use SRIOV in vCD? Or the detail steps to enable the VM to use the SRIOV network?

Hi!

From VMware Documentation

SR-IOV (Single-Root input/output Virtualization)

The configuration is done per virtual machine from within vCenter itself, but vCloud Director will not affect the workload configuration.

Hope it helps

Hi Thompsoa,

I also confused with this issue. In the following link "VMware vCloud NFV 2.1 Release Notes ",

it mentioned "vCloud Director component is now capable of launching and managing VMs that rely on SR-IOV interface for networking."

it also mentioned a bug "Importing an OVA or OVF with an SR-IOV vNIC to a vApp fails "

so it seems that vCD 9.1 really support deploy SR-IOV VM directly.

but in release notes and user guide of vCD 9.1, they both describe that VM need to be imported from vCenter.

so what's the real situation?

Thank you!

BR.
