Is Cluster Headroom in vROps 6.7 the same as Buffers in previous versions?

Hi,

when editing a policy in vROps 6.7 there is a Workload Automation section and there I can set a Cluster Headroom percentage. When is this percentage taken into account? Only for Workload Balancing between clusters or is this percentage also used in capacity calculations for a cluster? In other words, is it similar to the Buffers (as in the HA and Buffers) setting in previous vROps versions?

Regards,

J-

I already found the answer, cluster headroom is not included in capacity calculations, it is only used for vm placement. So the answer is no, it is not similar to the buffers in previous vROps versions.

You are correct. The Cluster Headroom setting is an additional buffer which provides your

clusters with a little extra headroom. This can help reduce the risk of your clusters running out of resources.
