E-Mail Notifications Fails

Hello Everyone,

I am trying to setup email notifications on vCenter Appliance 6.0.

So I went to the web client of my vcenter

Clicked on the vcenter and went to settings and choose Edit

There I added the following information :

Mail Server : smtp.office365.com

Mail Sender : monitoring.notifications@xxxx.com

After that I went to advanced settings and configured the following :

mail.smtp.password : XXXXX

mail.smtp.port: 587

mail.smtp.username: monitoring.notifications@xxxx.com

Now to test it I created a new alarm on the vcenter to notify when a new cluster is created.

Triggers: Cluster created

Actions: Send a notification email

Configuration: monitoring.notifications@xxxx.com

I checked on my FW, rules for port 587 is OK

Also the xxxx in monitoring.notifications@xxxx.com is just for hiding the domain.

I don't receive any mail Smiley Sad

Help please

Thank you

Hi there,

is the mail relay configured to manage mails received from your vCenter's IP / hostname?

Just a quick thought.

Best regards!

I've used the same config for Veeam.

It works fine.
I think there is something to do with TLS or something.

It's an office 365 account.
