Adobe Photoshop CC 2018 App Stack

I'm having issue putting Adobe Photoshop in an App Stack. It will open once and it gives me the follow error. "Adobe application Manager, required to run your trial is missing or damaged". Then every other time I open Photoshop it gives me the same error. . It looks like adobe_licutil is running from the mountpoint of the app stack and not the Program files (x86) folder on the VM. I'm thinking it doesn't recognize the mountpoint location so the license utility is not working. I have not found a way to work around this. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Jeff

We have packaged the entire suite and haven't had this issue. We do have names licenses so a user needs to log in when using the application.

The only downside is that every time the application is being started the user needs to log on because every time he logs in he gets a new computer with a different name.

Sorry for off topic !!
Ray, I've seen all your helpful answers in the forum about app volumes and more. Since I'm a new user here in the forum, I will not be able to send private messages yet. Is there any possibility that you could send me an email at joakim@obo.se
Would really appreciate if we could exchange experiences with each other regarding app volumes.

Are these linked clones using sysprep? I've seen weird licensing problems if your using sysprep, normally with Microsoft, but I can see adobe checking the computer SID. With vistual studio if you have an appstack, but linked clones using sysprep, you get an invalid license error

I have mine setup the same with all the applications and it works fine too, except the same issue as Ray where the user has to login to CC each time they login to the VM in the morning.

We are using Linked Clones with no sysprep

We have the same issue with Adobe Acrobat 2017. We have the issue both on instant clones and persistent-linked clones.

We are used named user licensing through the VIP plan.

Getting very frustrated. Anyone have ideas?

I have spoken to Adobe before and they say they do not support it on VM's.

It is because it locks the license to a machine name i believe and when using linked clones you will get a different machine every time you login. It recognizes the name is different the next time you login to the VM, so makes you log back into CC again.

How do you work around that? Are you using persistent-linked clones?

Not, you just tell the user to log on every time he or she starts up the application. We are now using writables which store all information but even those don't work with the licensing.

The user just has to log in first thing at the start of the day. They are non persistent linked clones.

We use UEM to capture the user settings and that works fine, i am not a fan of writable volumes, they cause more problems than their worth unless you exclude pretty much everything except what you need.
