6.7 - Were to find VM sizing recommendations (add/remove cpu or memory)

Hi,

In 6.7 - where do you find information like how many CPUs/Memory to add or remove from a VM?

For example, it will say a VMs memory has 0 days left. But it does not say how much to add?

it used to say very clearly what the sizing recommendations were for a vm in 6.6 . Where has this gone? How do we access this information?

If you check under All metrics --> Summary you'll find Oversized and Undersized. Under there you'll find CPU and Memory metrics for each.

This information is available in 3 places.

a) In the Reclaim Page. Quickstart -> Reclaim

b) In the Reports - Launch Reports and Search for Reclaimation or Optimization and you will see all the reports

c) In Views - Oversized, Powered Off, Idle etc.

Thanks for the information, Sunny, but those places don't even show the same information as the Analysis tab did.

This is garbage.  When I'm looking at the VM, I should be able to see this information without needing to run all over the place in vROPS.  The "Analysis" tab was perfect before the "upgrade", which I consider to actually be a downgrade.

It really feels to me that whoever is in charge of the interface doesn't actually use vROPS on a daily basis and just make pretty webpages that look good in a presentation.  Yay, now I have a ton of white space with a tiny little CPU graph where I used to have detailed recommendations on CPU peak GHz and CPU recommendations... and I also used to be able to take a screenshot of both the CPU and Memory peaks at the same time, but they're on different tabs now.

I'm going to recommend that we don't re-up our licensing for vRealize because it's becoming supremely not-useful with the increasingly poor interface design.
