In the latest ESXi6.7, hot CPU plugin function isn't supported, right?

Enable the hot CPU plugin function in settings of the VM, then, boot it, now changed the CPU counts in settings of the VM, will prompt me i can't operate it in power on status.

So, in the latest ESXi6.7, this function isn't supported?

Greetings and welcome to the forums!

It is supported in ESXi 6.7, but the configured Guest OS also needs to support Hot CPU add. You can check the Guest OS support in the VMware Compatibility Guide.

For ESXi 6.7 and e.g. Redhat the information is here:

VMware Compatibility Guide - Guest/Host Search

Thanks your help. Smiley Happy

1. Today, our guys helped me to check this feature with web client(FLEX) to login vCenter6.7, CPU hot-add function worked well.

2. I always login vCenter6.7 with web client(HTML5) which doesn't support some features. So I guess it caused my this discussion.

In the earlier vCenters like 6.5 / 6.0, the login home page prompts users that web client(HTML5) couldn't support some features, but in the vCetner6.7, there is no any warning to prompt us.

I simply think web client(HTML5) supports all features. Smiley Sad

Anyway, it works now with FLEX web client. Smiley Happy
