unable to login to vsphere client, could not connect, the client did not receive a complete response from the server, an unexpected error occurred on a receive

My workstation cannot launch vsphere client today (6.0).  I get could not connect, the client did not receive a complete response from the server, an unexpected error occurred on a receive.

I can connect on the server and on other workstations.  My firewall is off.

Most likely its a driver issue.. similar issues for earlier versions were reported and solved by getting new drivers
