As you might understand, based on the subject above, I am planning to build my own home lab for testing VMware products. So, I am looking for advices from you guys regarding hardware device .
So, I did some search before creating this post. Here are my hardware combination below:
- Intel Xeon E3-1220V6 (3.0 GHz)
- Supermicro X11SSL-F-O
- Kingston ValueRAM 16 Go DDR4 2133 MHz ECC CL15 DR X8
- Crucial MX500 500 Go
- WD Black 2 To SATA 6Gb/s
- BitFenix Prodigy M (noir)
Price around €1100
What do you this about that? Would you have better hardware combination that allow me to run vSphere 6.7 ?
I am looking forward to hearing from you
I have seen some valuable information at https://www.starwindsoftware.com/blog/3-generations-of-my-homelabs
Well, basically your hardware is pretty decent for a home lab. It should be fine for the purposes it is intended for.
