Just installed Fusion 10.1.1 on High Sierra. Made linux rel6 VM.
Can Virtual Machine ->Sharing -> Sharing Settings and see my Mac
home directory, but it says "Shared folder will not be available in the vm until
VMware Tools is installed and running. However, Virtual Machine -> Install VMware Tools
is insensitive. Have shutdown VM and still insensitive. Instructions looks like I need a
CD with the SW on it. What am I missing?

I haven't done much with Linux, but using the OpenVM tools has been preferred over VMWare's tools.
Maybe https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-Tools/10.2.0/vmware-tools-user-guide.pdf will help.

I ended up seeing that there were a couple of bad sata0:0 lines in the .vmx file. After removing them
was able to continuing to install the vmware tools. Thanks
