Why am I getting an 'Endpoint test failed' error message?

My web page initially timed out, so it was suggested that I use incognito mode on my browser and it let me.

I now get "Your collector has no vCenter or NSX Managers configured, Go to Settings to add one."

Ok, put in my vCenter Host Address, credentials (after confirming I could log in with those credentials).

I have an external PSC (doesn't everyone?), so I put in the PSC IP Address.

We are using the vsphere.local so no other changes.

I get the following error.

Endpoint test failed. Error message: Couldn't create PropertyCollector facade for getting the VC UUID -> java.lang.RuntimeException: Couldn't login the client. -> Couldn't login the client. -> Error communicating to the remote server https://10.5.0.146:7444/sts/STSService -> Error communicating to the remote server https://10.5.0.146:7444/sts/STSService -> HTTP transport error: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: java.security.cert.CertificateException: No subject alternative names matching IP address 10.5.0.146 found -> java.security.cert.CertificateException: No subject alternative names matching IP address 10.5.0.146 found -> No subject alternative names matching IP address 10.5.0.146 found

Hi SPSX,

Thank you for your update .

We would have to add the endpoints using the FQDN if the certificates contain FQDN and add it using the IP address if the certificate has the IP address.

Could you please try registering the endpoint using the FQDN and let us know how it goes.

Looks like it was a server issue at VMware, rebooted the collector, tried again, and I am in.
