I'm using Workstation 14 and to my amazement have succeeded in converting my Physical machine to Virtual. However I've a major problem because whn I pwer on this Virtual M/C, the mouse pointer is frozen the virtual screen so that it is impossible to log on end install Tools - please see attached screenshot for offending screen. Control/Alt releases pointer from the Virtual screen but whenever I return to Virtual - frozen again.
I am fairly new to VMWare and would be very grateful for any help forthcoming - willing to supply Teamviewer Creds if helpful. email aglaw@aglaw.plus.com

Is it possible to use the TAB key to select the required user account, and then hit the enter key to login?
Alternatively you may try to press CTRL-ALT-INS to see whether this allows you to enter user credentials.

neither TAB key or CTRL-ALT-INS seemed to have any effect and in any case are only available after releasing pointer from frozen Virtual screen using CTRL/ALT
Can you please try to start Windows 7 in Safe Mode (pressing "F8" after power on).
André
do you mean from Virtual or from source?
why don't you do it\? emailme and II'll send Teamviewer Creds
Please folks help me with this - nothing so far has done the trick!
Is there anyone out there who can help me? I've spent many hours trying to solve problem - but have found no solution!
Hi,
I suggest to rerun the physical to virtual migration, but this time... before you run that, uninstall any Synaptics software you can find in installed programs on the physical host.
In regards to why nobody is responding to the teamviewer request, that's most likely because it will most likely end up being time consuming and everybody here helping out is a volunteer.

Hi,
Synaptics is software for the touch pad on your laptop.
There's quite a number of posts here at the forum where synaptics is causing the mouse and keyboard driver to not malfunction after a physical to virtual migration.

Many Congratulations! getting rid of synaptics did it! how do I install VMWare tools?
Hi,
Once your VM is running, from the menu -> VM -> Install VMware Tools
Normally a VMware Tools installer would start by itself.
If no installer appears, go to the DVD-rom within windows and click "setup" (for 32 bits windows) or "setup64" (for 64 bits windows)
Once you see an installer, click "Next" until Finish, keep the defaults.
