Try adding the following to the package.ini and rebuilding the package:
I left out the Acrobat stuff, we don't use that but adding the lines doesn't help
Yeah, I just quickly pasted a line out of one of my builds that also had trouble with interaction with Excel.
Thought it might help with the issue.
It migh be a silly question, but have you tested this function with a manual installation of the add-in..?
I would also run procmon to find out what the application is actually trying to do when before and when it generates the error.
Yes, manual installation goes fine.
I also did al the steps to make sure every bit of the application is touched during capture.
Tried ProcMon but cannot really find an entry point.
Maybe I should try think-cell support again, they do support ThinApp captures, as they state on their website..

This is was only an issue before 4.5 according to the article.
Have them look into the error and advise you on what steps to take. They might have heard of the issue before.
