For context, where did you note this?

There are no 1-node vSAN clusters as I am sure you are aware so maybe a typo - or perhaps it is a sales bundling option and/or a configuration that has some shared device per 3 units.

Maybe the 3-node configuration is sold as a VxRail?

I don't see any prices listed there only 'Contact Sales' etc., generally I would assume prices are per node but potentially with a minimum/set number of nodes that need to be purchased (especially anything configured as an appliance such as VxRails).

The 1-node option there doesn't come with ESXi pre-installed which could imply this being a bring-your-own-license option.
