Two NICs on one host and two guest VMs

Hello to all,

I have two virtual machines on one host. Both virtual machines are started in VMWare Player 14. Is there any way I can assign each NIC to specific VM?

What I want to achieve is the following:

- each virtual machine should be connected to its own network (completely separated networks)

- two VMs share private network

- physical LAN cables from two separate networks are connected to host's NICs

The problem I have is that somehow both VMs are bridging to the same physical NIC on the host. I have tried to use option "replicate physical" but no success.

The set up is the following:

- each VM has defined two network adapters, one is in bridge mode, other is specific VMNet0 (for internal network between two VMs).

The problem is that vmware player doesn't have an option to specifically bridge VM1 to physical NIC1 and VM2 to physical NIC2.

Any advice is highly appreciated.

Thank you

You need to use the Virtual Network Configuration tool (which is not installed with Player - search the forum for how to obtain the needed files from a Workstation installation).

Bridged mode IS VMnet0, so you have both cards configured to use the same interface currently.

You need to uncheck the box to "automatically bridge", and specify which physical NIC to bridge to VMnet0.  Then select one of the unused VMnets (2-7, 9) and specify the other physical NIC to bridge to that one.  Then, in your VM configuration, use custom connection type, and specify the VMnet which corresponds to the desired physical NIC for that VM.

Thank you. I have found a way to extract Virtual Network editor tool. After that I was able to assign physical NIC to virtual adapters in virtual machines.
