I have a old version in my desktop. Today I can not log in. It said 'SSL error'. I thought this software may need to be updated. then I download latest version 4.7.
Because it found I have old version. Then installation ui show 'Agree &upgrade'. After a while , installation stopped on 'repairing VMware-Horizon-Client' about 10 minute. I thgouht it was dead, then I click cancel installation. But when I open installation again, it always shows "install failure" after 75% progress althougth I have rebooted desktop again. Is this because anything is not cleaned up? how can I install this succefully? I am using Win 7 Ultimate. I tried to install lower version 4.6.0,4.5.0, they are failure as well. I attached log at the end of this thread.
thanks

The error from the install log is below. It also reported failures on uninstalling the old client. I'd try downloading the installer for the version you currently have installed and see if you can perform a uninstall or repair from it.
MSI (s) (C8:DC) [20:19:52:149]: 1 application(s) had been reported to have files in use.
Info 1603.The file C:\Windows\system32\wsauth.dll is being held in use by the following process: Name: lsass, Id: 752, Window Title: '(not determined yet)'. Close that application and retry.
Can you take a look at the installation log, to see the error?
The installation log is located at %TEMP%\vminst.log_date_timestamp

Thanks. I added log at the end of thread.Do you know how can I fix that?
Please try a scripted install of the Horizon Client with a log file and then post that here. e.g. "VMware-Horizon-Client-y.y.y-xxxxxx.exe /silent /norestart /log "C:\Temp\Test""
See page 31-36.

Thank you. Issue is resolved by closing a security firewall program.
I"m adding this here since this page is the top result in google when searching for VMware Horizon Client for Windows installation failed. The solutions here pointed me in the right direction of looking at the error logs. I found this in my error log at C:\ProgramData\VMware\logs\VMware_Horizon_Client_blah-blah-blah-some-date-_002_ViewClientx64.log:
