Memory limit doesn't accept the negative value

Trying to edit a vm, results in the error you can see. If I reload the page it works again, but one time only.

Firefox 55.0.2 (it works ok in chrome ..) - no love for the only browser that does not sell you? Smiley Happy

Had that issue before upgrading to ESXi 6.5 Build 5969303. Not anymore, at least haven't seen it so far.

I have v.5969303 too, but the problem persist - it is so bad at the moment that if you have a lot of work to do (edit more settings, add/import machines, etc) you jut can't work or I am forced to use chrome since both Safari and Firefox don't work for more than one operation before I have to reload the page.

That's weird. For what it's worth, I'm running nested ESXi 6.5 but I don't believe it would make much of a difference if I were using hardware save for drivers.

Update: Problem is still there. It pops up when you edit the a VM's settings twice in a row.

This problem is now a lot of months old, reproducible, affects multiple browsers and it is not only frustrating, but TIME consuming..

We would like to upgrade in production, but working with hundreds of servers this way is impossible!

Any updates??

Don't have, like or use crawling and anti-privacy apps like google products.

Is Google Chrome a stated requirement in using vmware products ?

I also have that issue.  I run Fedora 26 with Firefox 56.0.  Same issue with Chrome 62.0.3202.45

I tried on a Windows 10 box with Edge and Firefox.  Same deal.  I'm thinking it's not the browser.  Especially since that article referred to in this thread states the dev with the same OS and browser was ok.

I'm using a ESXi 6.5 which was an upgrade of an ESXi 5.1.  It is EXTREMELY difficult (and I'm not even talking about how annoying) to work with.

I found this post and then found a few answers.  Like others have posted, updating the Embedded Host Client (aka ESX Web UI) seems to be the right answer. How do you do that?  Two ways, via the web client or the CLI.

Web Client process was shown in this video: ESXi Embedded Host Client Update - YouTube

CLI process (manual and automated) are linked below. The manual link below takes you to the VMware Labs site and should put you right on the instructions tab. If not, look for the 3rd tab across the top of the main content window and the label, "Instructions."

Manual: ESXi Embedded Host Client

At the bottom of the above VMware Labs page, there is a link that takes you to a blog post on  Brian Graf's site where he describes and walks through the process of updating the Embedded Host Client via PowerCLI. His code is posted on GitHub and his page links you there.

Automated: https://www.brianjgraf.com/2015/08/13/automate-install-embedded-host-client-esxi-fling-hosts-cluster...

I'm new to VMware Administration and found these links to be helpful. I personally updated my 4 ESX hosts via the UI, just to have that experience, but will likely use PowerCLI going forward.

Good Luck.

MAKE IT OPTIONAL. The new web client is a nightmare. Errors on ALL browsers. Whoever thought doing away with the standalone client should be fired. Make the web client optional until all the problems are sorted out at least. Chrome will not even let me log in without an error loop. Thats a clean install of chrome with no addons. Firefox lets me in but creating a vm gives the same problems as listed in this thread. I can see the reasoning behind wanting to do a web based client, but making it mandatory is got to be the stupidest decision they have made. MAKE IT OPTIONAL. Bring the client back!
