I know how to add a trap for the vCenter Server, or an ESXi host, but have a customer looking to do so in a 5.5 environment on individual VMs, and cannot find the setting. Is this something that can be done?
What type of trap needs to be sent from the VM?
I'm actually given a server, and am told to clone the settings. Looking at where I can see these

I'm just not understanding what you want to be notified on and why you can't get that from vCenter.
