Failed to reconfigure virtual machine NAME. Invalid operation for device '1'. - dismiss

Similar to Failed to reconfigure Virtual machine (Extending Disk space) in ESXi version 6.5 - I am unable to expand my disk space on my VM. Any ideas as to why?

Failed to reconfigure virtual machine Splunk. Invalid operation for device '1'. - dismiss

.vmx is shown below. Any ideas as to why I can't expand the disk? I'm able to modify other settings, such as tweaking the amount of RAM in the VM.
