Cannot add a license to vSphere

Trying to add the license key through vSphere Web Client I get an error “The following serial keys are invalid”. What should I do?

Well then is invalid !

there is no other  reasons behind it

In the vcenter where you are inserting the license the nsx manager is registered? Otherwise this error can occur even ...

Call VMware support and navigate to the license team to confirm it's a valid key and there are no issues with it.

I have had this issue also today. I tried a several license for NSX, no sucess. After we have booted the vCenter appliance and the NSX Manager all was running fine and the license was valid.

This has nothing to do with the license key itself. Its a serious bug and present in 6.4.1 as well. For whatever reason even administrator@vsphere.local doesn't appear to have the required permission despite being a member of the vsphere.local/administrators group!

The issue appears resolved in 6.4.2

I am also facing the same issue with nsx 6.4.5 and vsphere 6.7.

same license works in another vcenter with same version. Can anyone help please
