Hi all,
we have a VMware 5.5 Infrastructure with a vCenter Appliance. Actually, the VMware CA root certificate is expired
and now we want to renew the certificate and follow the instruction in this article "VMware Knowledge Base ".
We have the problem, we see no link "Download trusted root CA certificates" on the web client.
Have anybody experiences with this problem and knows a workaround or a solution?
Best regards
Matthias
*I apologize for a possible wrong approach, is my first post in this area 🙂
What do you get if you hit this address manually:
Hi,
Sorry for the delay!
when I type in the URL: https://vcenter.domain.com/certs/download.zip I get nothing (I have test the URL with Firefox and Crome). When I only type in
the URL: https://vcenter.domain.com (instead the domain name I use the IP address of the vCenter server) I got the "Welcome Site".
Best regards
Matthias
Why can you not pull up the same page when using the FQDN of vCenter? Do you not have dns?
Oh sorry, was my mistake, it is possible to use the dns name from the vCenter-Server. I suspect I made a dns mismatch on the first test. Now I can use the domainname, but the result is the same, I have got a empty sheet.
I am confused, my problem is, that the local CA Root certificate from VMware is expired. I don't have expected, that I must connect to the local web service on vCenter server to got a new Root-Certificate
