A history of a VM's residency

Hello all,

I think I already know the answer but is there a way either through logs or vROps to figure out where a particular VM, or set of VMs, have lived?

Example:

VM 1 is currently on host 1 but on 1/5/2018 it was on host 23 and on 12/30/2017, it was on host 15.

Yes, you can get this using Log Insight.

Yes, this should be able to be determined by examining the hostd.log of multiple hosts and looking for references to handling of the .vmx (e.g. /vmfs/volumes/DatastoreName/VMname/VMname.vmx).
