VMware View 5 error: Failed to relocate disposable

I am deploying XP in view 5, and I encounter this error: View Composer agent initialization state error (9): Failed to relocate disposable (waited 0 seconds).

I have patch the hotfix 944043. and when I change view agent to 4.6, everything works fine. Is there anyone have this problem before?

same problem here as well

View Composer agent initialization state error (9): Failed to relocate disposable (waited 0 seconds)

tried reinstalling coomposer5

triedd reinstaling all agents

tried updating esxi5 and vcenter5

using update manager 100% compliant

tried reinstalling vconnect5

all runnning 2008 r2 all updated

all connnected tto sql2008r2 express and vms are windows 7

UPDATE:

as a test i unchecked the creation of the 4096mb disposable disk under pool settings and it worked, but it sounds like a workaround and unsure at the moment how this settting is going to affect the vm's - any thoughts i would appreciate

Well the error says it can't relocate disposable which I take to mean the disposable disk.    I think you verified this is correct by unchecking the disposable disk option and having it work correctly.   The disposable disk simply allows the page file and maybe some other files used by windows to be stored on a different disk that is deleted when the VM is not in use.

I am assuming this error may occur for different reasons, I had the error on a Windows 7 (64) VM and resolved as follows.

1. In View Administrator, I put affected VM into Maintenance Mode (under More Commands)
2. In vCenter, I logged into the affected VM
3. My Computer > Drive E > Temp folder > CTRL-A > Shift-Del (note : not all files can be deleted)
Drive E is the disposable disk in my case, yours may be different.
4. Restart the VM
5. Take out of Maintenance mode in View Administrator once rebooted

The error flag is gone, and user can once again login via PCoIP. I would be interested to know if other are able to resolve this issue in this way.

All the best.

I was running into this issue on ESX 4.1 for a while. Everything was working fine, then one day VM's started failing during the building stage with this error. Didnt matter which host or what the pool settings were. We couldn't identify anything that had changed that might have caused this to stop working and eventually just made everything without disposable disks.

Good news is, we just upgraded to ESXi 5.x and we are able to use Disposable Disks without issue. Kinda wish i had found a better solution, but at least it's working again.

@kulraj ...

You should be able to delete all the files in that directory if you stop the VMware View Agent (wsnm) service and the VMware View Composer Guest Agent Server (vmware-viewcomposer-ga) service.

Start > Run > services.msc > Stop the above services > delete the files as you suggested > restart

Worked like charm on Horizon View 6 and VDI running Windows 7 x64 with agent 6.0.1. Yeah, legacy system...

1. In View Administrator, I put affected VM into Maintenance Mode (under More Commands)

2. In vCenter, I logged into the affected VM

3. My Computer > Drive E > Temp folder > CTRL-A > Shift-Del (note : not all files can be deleted)
