add host by DNS

Hi,

As I mentioned earlier in this forum (https://communities.vmware.com/thread/579096), we have a problem with Veeam and we are not able to find a solution to fix it.

I contacted with Veeam support, and they told me that I need to do this step: https://www.veeam.com/kb1777.

The problem is that when I try to add the host on Veeam by ip address, I receive this message:

vmware1.png

I contact with Veeam support again, and they told me that I had to do the same process but I had to add the server by DNS.

I configured the host with the following configuration:

vmware2.png

I tried to add the server by DNS, but I can’t:

vmware3.png

Could you help me, please?

Thanks so much.

Best regards.

First, you need forward and reverse DNS resolution for that name. Do you have that? Second, log in to the DCUI and use the management network option to change the hostname.

Thanks so much for your help.

There are sometimes that the problem is easy to resolve, but you need other point of view to realise the mistake.
