while our host go to isolated mode is that such as host failure ? means will restart vms on isolated host and boot on the other hosts?

i read that but what does this means from configured isolation addresses ?

1- "The isolated host cannot ping the configured isolation addresses"

2 - i understand the condition of host go isolated is :

2-1: it host can not detect other hosts in cluster

2-2: it can connect with datastores

is that correct ?

Host network isolation occurs when a host is still running but it can no longer communicate with other hosts in the cluster and it cannot ping the configured isolation addresses. When the HA agent on a host loses contact with the other hosts, it will ping the isolation addresses. If the pings fail, the host will declare itself isolated

Same for datastore heartbeat if enabled.

On a regular basis HA contacts its isolation response address to ensure the cluster is functioning correctly. The default isolation response address is the default gateway but other reliable IP addresses can be configured along with the default gateway or the default gateway can also be disabled as an isolation response address.

but another could not understand your means clearly

for example my esxi1 ip is = 10.10.10.20  gw=10.10.10.1

esxi2 ip = 10.10.10.30  gw = 10.10.10.1

esxi3 ip =10.10.10.40  gw = 10.10.10.1

esxi4 ip =10.10.10.50 gw = 10.10.10.1

now is your means for example in esxi1 is in isolated network can not ping 10.10.10.1 ?

or the other means is if my esxi1 could not ping default gw ( 10.10.10.1) means this esxi is in isolated mode?

if the HA heartbeat is not sent from esxi host esxi01 to master and if the esxi01 fails to reach isolation response address (i.e gw) then the host will be declared as isolated.
