Can you detect recompose settings for a VM from inside the OS?

Is it possible to detect from inside an OS if it will recompose on logoff?

Scenario: You have access to a sites Active Directory and their inventory of regular and VDI desktops, but no access to their VDI infrastructure. You want to push a policy to all of the desktops, but skip the ones that are going to be rebuilt on logoff, because it's wasted cycles and will be taken care of when the golden image is updated.

Is there some registry key or something one could use to identify that the desktop was recently built or part of a pool that is set to recompose?

You can determine which pool it is a part of but not if its going to be recomposed. In your situation, I would add key word in the pool name to indicate that it will be recomposed thus help you determine if it will be recomposed at logoff.
