There are no "required" alerts and dashboards you have to set up--it depends what you want to get out of it. Take a look at the default alerts and dashboards enabled with the content packs you download from the Marketplace (all free) and see what suits your needs.

Like daphnissov mentioned install the content packs for all (vsphere/vsan/nsx/vio ) (vsphere and vsan come with the product install and others you can get from in-product marketplace or from the VMware solution exchange - all are free) then on the content packs menu select one content pack at a time goto alerts tab and enable all the alerts marked Critical and security to begin with and then enable more as per your environment needs. You can engage your VMware rep to help you with this and if you have none then please post your email id here and I can help you post Jan 10th if that is ok for you.

Thanks to all.

as you mentioned we have already using all available content packs , But here is one scenario which i noticed.

One of my host went in to not responding state but based on content pack  there is no user alerts defined for not responding and it was not highlighting in vRLI  dashboard also. I would like to know how to handle this? i can create custom alerts but how do i handle some other issues which is not defined in CP user alerts

CP are meant to give you the most used alerts, queries and dashboards. However if you need anything other than what the CP provides you can easily create  your own custom queries, alerts and dashboards. As for the alert about a host not sending data this system alert will be part of the next vRLI release.

If you need a solution now, I'd recommend you read my article where I detail a method that does work.
