Resetting vCenter Server Appliance password

Hello,

After I was prompted to change the password for root when i tried to sign into the appliance, the new password I have entered does now not work. Is there some possible option why this could be happening or do I have to reinstall the esxi now?

Have you tried the old password? Caps lock on, or was it on by chance?

Yes, so we have tried the old password as well as if the caps lock was on when resetting it.
